Intimacy with God is like wood being used to light a fire stove in a living room. Once the log sits on the fire after sometime, the logs appearance changes. Though it’s frame remains the same, yet the log has now taken on the full essence of fire. It’s life is no longer it’s own. It’s no longer sustained or held by it’s structure. Likewise, in the place of intimacy with God as we by His grace remain steady and steadfast in His love, we are changed, we die to our egos, our Adamic nature is transformed until we can see, with much inward conviction, truly it is no longer I that lives but Christ. Our lives also testify, when people see us they now see Him. His light, His love, His peace, His fragrance, which has consumed the old man.
Though on the outside our appearance remains the same, yet we have now taken on the life of Christ. In the death to self only possible in His presence and by His Grace. We are refined, no longer sustained by our strength or power, but by His might alone. The changing in appearance not only changes us but the radiance and fragrance of His love can be seen in the world around us as He illuminates the world through us, by the fire of His love.
Much Love in Christ,
Your Sister,
Ruth
